Job summary

McFarlane Trust Ltd is seeking Support Workers to help adults with learning and physical disabilities in Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire. The role involves a 28-hour week on a 7-day rota, with a Health and Social Care background preferred.

You will provide personal and practical support, encourage development of skills, and accompany individuals on outings. Sleepovers may be required; ongoing training and development are offered.

Qualifications

• Willing to undertake SVQ qualification and attend all training.
• Able to show compassion, dignity and respect.
• Understand and consider the needs of others.
• Must be a good listener.
• Be an excellent communicator written and oral.
• Experience with people with complex learning disabilities is an advantage, induction and ongoing training provided.
• Driving licence desirable.

Are you looking for a career in care, or already have experience but want to develop further? We have a Support Worker vacancy where you will be required to work 28 hours over 7 days on a shift rota basis. Ideally, you should have a Health and Social Care background and have experience of working with people with complex learning disabilites.

You will be expected to create environments where the people we support can develop interests, skills, and relationships to enable them to live fulfilling lives in their local community. The job is hard work but extremely rewarding.

Working together with the people we support can make a real difference to their lives. Some of our services may require sleep over and overnight holidays.

Successful Support Workers will benefit from the following;

• A pay rate of at least £13.45 p/hr, increasing to at least £114.56 p/hr after 3 years service. (starting rate is negotiable dependent on experience)
• 4 weeks annual leave entitlement increasing to 5 weeks after 10 yrs service.
