Job summary

CareTech is hiring a Support Worker in Solihull, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. The role offers 36 hours per week on a rota basis, with shifts including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

Full training and induction are provided, with opportunities for career progression. We value caring, patient and respectful individuals who can work independently or as part of a team, with good communication and basic IT/written abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support according to individual plans.

• Support activities, appointments and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and collaborate within a team.
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.

Location: Smiths Wood, Solihull

Rate: £12.79 per hour

Permanent | Full-time | 36 hours per week (rota-based)

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Drivers desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
