Job summary

Priory, Beacon House in Melton Mowbray, is seeking a Support Worker to join our team. The role involves assisting residents with daily living, implementing care plans and activities, and building rapport with service users and families.

The position is full-time (37.5 hours) at Beacon House, with shift patterns from 08:00–20:00 and 20:00–08:00, in a residential addiction treatment setting. Driving may be beneficial for access to the service.

Qualifications

• NVQ2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent or higher with English and Maths GCSE/NVQ2.
• Strong communication and ability to work in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the people who use our service have needs met and support daily living tasks.
• Complete daily administration including updating care plans, charts and notes.
• Maintain professional relationships with service users, families and colleagues.
• Adhere to policies to ensure safety, confidentiality and quality care.
• Undertake keyworking for individual clients, documenting goals and outcomes.

Beacon House has an opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team.

Shift work 08:00-20.00/20:00-08:00.

Beacon House is located in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire and is a residential addiction treatment service. It is accessible by public transport, with Melton Mowbray railway station and local bus links nearby. The town centre is less than 1 mile away, although public transport services may be limited at certain times. Due to the location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

What you'll be doing

• Ensure that the people who use our service have any needs or requirements met; including participation in activities and support with daily living tasks. To support people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in the way that they choose.
• Complete daily administration including updating person centred support & care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes.
• Maintains professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with the people who use our service, their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders.
• Through own professional behaviour, including adhering to policies and procedures, contributes to the maintenance of safety, security and confidentiality standards.
• To undertake keyworking responsibility for individual clients, supporting the individual to plan goals and personal outcomes and ensure that these are comprehensively documented and reviewed.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role

• NVQ2 in Health & Social Care or related area or equivalent or higher recognised qualification. GCSE or NVQ2 in English and Maths. N.B. It is not anticipated that all new recruits to the role will have NVQ2 qualification but will commence the attainment process within six months of joining and will have a specific time period in which to qualify.
• Communication and personal interaction is a key feature of this role This role also requires participation in and promotion of a team approach at all times, with positive and constructive working relationships for the benefit of the Client.
