Monarch Education is seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Mentor to join the support team at a large, three-form entry primary school located in the M9 area of Manchester (Cheetham Hill). This is a full-time, long-term position required to start as soon as possible (ASAP).

- Providing tailored 1:1 support to pupils with identified Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Leading or assisting with small group support sessions focused on developing positive behaviours, social skills, and emotional literacy.
- Working collaboratively with the class teacher and the wider SEND support team to implement behaviour support plans and strategies.
- Identifying and addressing barriers to learning related to behaviour and emotional well-being.

- Monitoring and recording pupil progress and reporting on the effectiveness of interventions.
- Contributing to the overall positive ethos and inclusive culture of the school.
Candidate Profile

While school-based experience is beneficial, we welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience gained in other settings. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience working directly with children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), specifically those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or those requiring assistance in promoting positive behaviour.
- Relevant experience from backgrounds such as Youth Work, Social Care, Residential Care, or Sports Coaching is highly valued.
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach with the ability to establish clear expectations and boundaries.
- Confidence in building positive and effective relationships with pupils from diverse and potentially vulnerable backgrounds.
- The ability to support pupils' progress both socially and academically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with pupils, staff, and potentially parents/carers.
- Resilience and the ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism.
- Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, from 08:20 to 15:30 during term time only.
