Job summary

Swanton Care is seeking a proactive Support Worker to join our residential home. You will provide practical and emotional support to residents, helping them achieve personal goals in line with their individual support plans.

We value empathy and a non-judgmental attitude, with training provided. A valid UK driving licence is essential to support residents in daily activities and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • Empathetic and non-judgmental approach to support.
  • Experience with learning disabilities or complex care is preferred but full training will be provided.
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower individuals to achieve their goals within their support plans.
  • Promote health, well-being and respect diverse beliefs and cultures in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitate social, educational or recreational activities with residents and their families.
  • Carry out general housekeeping duties and assist with personal care as needed.
  • Complete a range of records and documentation to reflect care delivered.

The role of the Support Worker is an opportunity for a pro-active person to join an evolving Care Company. We are looking for dedicated and empathetic people. The support team will provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations. The team will be inducted and trained to support people within our residential home. The people we support require support around their daily living skills, health needs and will have a range of physical and/or learning disabilities. We require a Support Team who is empathetic and non-judgmental, someone who has experience in behaviour that can be challenging. About you Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting people in a way which respects their dignity?   • To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone's individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way
  • Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice
  • General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as, possibly, elements of personal care
  • As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents
    Graig Llwyd is a 6-bedroom home in Pontypridd, we provide individualised, tailored support to 6 individuals with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour.
