Job summary

Swanton Care in Bridgend is seeking a full-time Support Worker/Carer to empower residents to achieve their goals with compassionate, person-centred support. You will help with daily activities, community engagement and personal care while respecting individual choices and dignity.

The role requires flexible, reliable team players with good communication, able to work across a 24/7 schedule. Training is provided for any required skills and experiences.

Qualifications

  • Enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting people with dignity.
  • Able to be adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of challenging behaviour and/or learning disabilities is preferred; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower people to achieve their goals within individual support plans.
  • Promote health, well-being and beliefs in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitate social, educational or work activities and community engagement.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties including shopping and personal care elements.
  • Complete a range of records and documents as required.

About The Role

We are looking for Support Workers/Carers who care about making every moment matter for the people we support within our service based in Bridgend.

Whilst fully embracing the company ethos support workers provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live.

Support is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Position:Full Time Support Worker/Carer

Location:Bridgend

Hours:Full time, 40 hours per week

Job type:Permanent

About you

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting people in a way which respects their dignity?

You will need to be adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of our team.

Experience of challenging behaviour and/or learning disabilities is preferred but all training will be provided.

The role
  • To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
  • General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
  • As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
