Job summary

Priority Childcare, part of Orbis Education and Care, is recruiting a Support Worker for Blaen Y Waun in Carmarthenshire.

You will support adults with emotional, social and physical needs in a safe, caring environment, helping with meals, activities and developing independent living skills while following person-centred plans.

We offer sleep-in shifts, full training, and progression opportunities, with a friendly team committed to making a real difference.

Qualifications

  • Compassionate, resilient, and caring nature.
  • Valid driving licence (essential).
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous care experience helpful but not essential. Full training is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting adults with their emotional, social, and physical needs in a safe, caring environment.
  • Acting as a positive role model, encouraging independence, confidence, and personal development.
  • Supporting with social, leisure, educational, and community-based activities.
  • Tailoring support to meet individual needs, preferences, and person-centred support plans.
  • Recording progress, activities, and any incidents clearly and accurately.
  • Helping with everyday tasks such as meal preparation, household duties, and developing independent living skills.
  • Supporting at Ty Canol, the second home of Blaen Y Waun, located just a few minutes away.

What You'll Need as a Support Worker at Blaen Y Waun
  • A compassionate, resilient, and caring nature.
  • A valid driving licence (essential).
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous care experience is helpful but not essential. Full training is provided.

Right to Work Requirement: Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and, where applicable, hold a visa with at least 18 months remaining at the time of application. We cannot accept applications from Student Visa holders or candidates requiring sponsorship or sponsorship transfers. Successful candidates with a time-limited right to work will be employed on a fixed-term contract ending on their visa expiry date.

Please note: This role involves working with vulnerable adults and requires an Enhanced DBS check.
