Job summary

Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative in Builth Wells is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help people we support live fulfilled lives. You’ll assist with daily decisions, practical tasks and community activities, ensuring dignity, respect and autonomy.

This is a full-time permanent role, with weekends and sleep-ins included. The hourly rate is £13.59, sleep-ins are £60 per night, and travel expenses are paid at 55p per mile. Comprehensive training is provided.

• No experience required; full training provided.

As a Support Worker in Builth Wells, you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support.

We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, as a Support Worker, you can play a vital role in this.

Role: Support Worker

Location: Builth Wells

Hours: Full-time, Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins

Salary: £13.59 per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

Contract: Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you’ll actively support individuals in making their own choices and set their own goals — whether it’s everyday decisions like what to wear, eat, or do, or something bigger such as where to live, how to manage your finances, or where to go on holiday.

As a trusted Support Worker, you'll empower people to follow through on these choices, including taking part in structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills. You’ll also offer practical support to help them meet responsibilities like paying bills, maintaining their homes, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family.

Your goal is to make everyday remarkable through enhancing well-being and focusing on the small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose.

No experience required as full training is provided.

• are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people
• have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning
• have afull driving licence - essentialfor transporting individuals to appointments and activities
• have access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 55p per mile to cover this
