Portman Recruitment are working with an established children's residential care provider in Liverpool who are looking to recruit an experienced and resilient Residential Support Worker. The home supports young people with complex additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities and communication difficulties.
You will work in a 2:1 staffing environment, building trusting relationships and delivering calm, patient support.

Salary: up to£14.15 per hour

Qualification: Level 3 preferred, but training can be provided

The young people can display behaviours of concern, so the client needs somebody who is calm, patient, confident and able to build trusting relationships over time. The client's own advert confirms that support is highly individualised, with 2:1 staffing in place for the young people currently living within the home.
You’ll ideally have experience within:
You’ll need to be resilient, consistent and patient, with a genuine understanding that behaviour can often be a form of communication.
A Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People / Residential Childcare would be advantageous, although the employer is prepared to support the right person through their qualification.
A driving licence would also be advantageous.
