Job summary

Confidential is recruiting a Support Worker to assist young people with learning disabilities in a Henley-on-Thames respite setting. You will provide personal care, support daily activities, and help individuals learn new skills while ensuring their safety and wellbeing. Experience in care is ideal but not essential; full training will be provided.

A driver with a car is preferred. Excellent communication and safeguarding knowledge are important, and you will join a caring, flexible team

Qualifications

• Good communication, ICT and organisational skills.
• Empathy and passion when delivering care.
• Team player with safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to people with complex learning disabilities.
• Have a positive can-do attitude.
• Occasional weekend work, evenings and sleep-in duties on a rota basis.

Job description

Our client is a Learning Disability Respite Centre based in Henley-on-Thames, dedicated to supporting young people (aged ) with learning disabilities. (They may also have physical disabilities and/or complex medical needs.)

They offer day care and short breaks, enabling their clients to spend time with friends, learn new skills and enjoy new opportunities all whilst their families enjoy a much-needed break. Vitally, they provide invaluable continuity of support and care between teen and adult years as the young people transition from childrens to adults social care.

Their Support Workers empower young people with disabilities to live life to the full. They give them the opportunity to have experiences and opportunities that they might otherwise never have. They are caring, compassionate, fun, dedicated, passionate and flexible.

We require

• Previous experience in the care sector ideal but not essential as full training will be given
• Good communication, ICT, and organisational skills
• Empathy and passion when delivering care
• Good Team Player
• Good knowledge of Safeguarding
• NVQ L2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (Ideal but not essential)
• Driver with a car
