Job summary

Clover Care Group is recruiting a Support Worker to provide person-centred care for a male spinal injury service user in his home in Great Yarmouth. You will promote independence, dignity, choice, and wellbeing while delivering safe, compassionate support tailored to his needs.

Qualifications

• Caring, compassionate and reliable with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care in a respectful and dignified manner.
• Assist with transfers using appropriate moving and handling equipment.
• Support daily living activities including washing, dressing and continence care.
• Assist with meals, hydration and nutrition per dietary requirements.
• Support with medication administration in line with policies.
• Monitor health and wellbeing and report changes promptly.
• Assist with pressure area care and repositioning as needed.
• Support with domestic tasks and maintaining a safe home.
• Encourage independence and participation in activities and appointments.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with the care team.
• Follow safeguarding, infection control, health and safety procedures.

Job Description - Support Worker (Male Spinal Injury Service User) Support Worker, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

Hours - Monday to Sunday, 8:00am - 8:00pm (12-hour shifts on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays)

Job Purpose

To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to a male service user living with a spinal cord injury in his own home in Great Yarmouth. The successful candidate will promote independence, dignity, choice, and wellbeing while ensuring the service user receives safe, compassionate, and professional support tailored to his individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care in a respectful and dignified manner.
• Assist with transfers using appropriate moving and handling equipment, following care plans and risk assessments.
• Support with all aspects of daily living, including washing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence care.
• Assist with meal preparation, hydration, and nutrition according to dietary requirements.
• Support with medication administration in line with company policies and training.
• Monitor the service user's health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns or changes promptly.
• Assist with pressure area care and repositioning as outlined in the care plan.
• Support with domestic tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment.
• Encourage independence and involvement in hobbies, social activities, appointments, and community access where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate daily records, care notes, incident reports, and communication logs.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, therapists, family members, and the wider care team.
• Follow all safeguarding, infection control, health and safety, and confidentiality procedures.

Desirable

• Previous experience supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries or complex care needs.
• Experience using hoists and other moving and handling equipment.
• Medication administration experience.
