We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a client who lives in the lovely village of Hoo. Our client is a gentleman in his early sixties who has sustained a spinal injury that affects his mobility. He is looking for confident, proactive Support Workers who can assist him both at home and out in the community.

About the Role

Our client requires support with daily living, mobility and a structured rehabilitation programme. Experience in any of the following would be highly advantageous:

  • Neurogenic bladder care
  • Physiotherapy support
  • Bowel management
  • Awareness and management of autonomic dysreflexia

Rehabilitation is extremely important to him, and he is looking for someone who can encourage him at his own pace while remaining positive, patient and enthusiastic.

Rehabilitation & Exercise Routine

You will support the client with:

  • Daily stretches in bed, covering full‑body movement
  • Using his parallel bars, assisting and motivating him to walk and build strength
  • Gym sessions 2–3 mornings a week (approx. 1.5 hours), where he enjoys strength and fitness exercises
  • Using his gutter frame as part of his ongoing mobility plan

Community Access & Interests

A Full clean, automatic Driving Licence is essential, as you will drive and accompany him out into the community. He enjoys:

  • Days out, especially sandy beaches on sunny days
  • Cooking
  • Football
  • Spending time outdoors
  • Having a good laugh and engaging with upbeat company

Who We’re Looking For

This role would suit someone who is:

  • Confident driving an automatic vehicle
  • Energetic, encouraging and able to motivate at the client’s own pace
  • Interested in rehabilitation, progression and mobility work
  • Friendly, with a good sense of humour
  • Keen to be part of the client’s ongoing moving‑and‑handling journey toward achieving his long‑term goals

Whether you currently working in a care home, school, hospital, supported living, or community setting—or if you have experience supporting individuals with complex, clinical or neurological needs—this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a rewarding, person‑centered role.
