Job summary

Search Consultancy is seeking experienced Support Workers to join our agency team in the Dumfries area. Enjoy flexible shifts, competitive pay up to £16 per hour, holiday pay, ongoing training, and the potential for permanent positions.

You will support clients to develop independence, complete assessments, and encourage participation in daytime activities. The role requires empathy, calmness under pressure, and a flexible approach to shifts.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months' paid experience in a support worker or care role.
• Excellent communication skills with tact, empathy, and sensitivity.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure and confidently manage challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Supporting clients to develop the skills and confidence needed to progress towards independent living.
• Completing strengths and needs assessments alongside clients to identify their goals, aspirations, and the support required to achieve them.
• Encouraging and motivating clients to engage in meaningful daytime activities, including skills development, training, volunteering, employment, and healthy lifestyle activities.
• Providing person-centred support while promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Building positive relationships with clients and working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies.
