Job summary

Dimensions is seeking a caring and proactive Support Worker to join our team in Droitwich (WR9). You will help six adults with PMLD and complex health needs in their own apartments within a shared setting, providing both 1:1 and shared support.

New team members receive full training, with a focus on building trust, effective communication, and person-centred care. Driving is helpful but not essential; a Learn to Drive scheme is available to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Experience is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided.
• A caring, proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting adults.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a residential support setting.

Responsibilities

• Support people with personal care and daily living activities.
• Use hoists and equipment to support mobility.
• Assist with meal planning and preparation.
• Medication administration and monitoring as trained.
• Support communication, including non-verbal methods and Makaton.
• Collaborate with colleagues and relatives to provide consistent care.
• Support people to engage in activities and maintain routines.
• Support people to achieve personal goals and development.

About the role

We're looking for caring, proactive and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our team in Droitwich (WR9), supporting six adults aged 19–31 with Profound or Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex health needs.

The people we support each have their own self-contained apartment within a shared support setting. While everyone has their own routines, interests and goals, there is a strong sense of community and teamwork throughout the home.

Support is provided on both a 1:1 basis and through shared support, depending on individual needs.

Support includes:

• Supporting people with their personal care
• Using hoists and specialist equipment
• Supporting wheelchair users
• Meal preparation
• Supporting people with eating and drinking
• PEG feeding support
• Administering medication
• Supporting people with epilepsy, including Buccal medication procedures
• Supporting communication, including Makaton and other individual communication methods
• Working alongside Speech and Language Therapy guidance
• Supporting people to do the things that matter to them

One gentleman communicates without words and is new to the setting. Building trust, learning his communication style and recognising additional signs of communication will be an important part of the role.

Family involvement is a key part of life here, and you'll work closely with relatives and colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality support.

Shifts

Days:

• 7:00am – 3:00pm
• 3:00pm – 10:00pm
• Long Day: 7:00am – 10:00pm

Rotas are provided in advance to support planning and work–life balance.

Experience is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided, including specialist health, communication and medication training.

While a driving licence is not essential, we're particularly interested in people who are working towards driving and are keen to develop their confidence driving larger mobility vehicles in the future.
