Job summary

Confidential in Doncaster is seeking a dedicated Housing Support Worker to join our team on a temporary, full-time basis with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate. You will support young residents in social housing, helping them maintain accommodation and access services.

You will provide practical and emotional support, build trusting relationships, and promote independent living while safeguarding residents and keeping clear case notes.

We are currently recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to join an organization in Doncaster. This is a temporary, full-time opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right person.

The service supports young people living in social housing who may be experiencing issues / challenges that can affect their ability to maintain stable accommodation and live independently.

The Role

As a Housing Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to residents, helping them maintain their accommodation, develop independent living skills and access appropriate support services.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one support to residents within a supported housing environment

About You

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and confident working with young adults.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Housing Support Worker, Support Worker, Hostel Worker, Recovery Worker, Outreach Worker or similar role
• Experience supporting people affected by drug and/or alcohol misuse
• An understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations
• A genuine commitment to helping people improve their circumstances
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider support team
