Job summary

Acuity Care Group is seeking a Female Night Support Worker to provide 1:1 care for a lady at home in Portland. The role involves 36 hours per week of waking night shifts (8:00 PM – 8:00 AM).

Full training will be provided, and you will work within a supportive team dedicated to high‑quality, person‑centred care. The position requires a full UK driving licence and experience with non‑verbal communication and complex needs.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and confidence driving the client's vehicle.
• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs.
• Experience with non-verbal communication is helpful but not essential.
• Be kind, patient, caring, reliable and confident in your role.
• Willing to learn specific communication cues.
• Happy to engage in sensory, creative and play-based activities.
• Confident supporting an individual to access their local community and participate in social activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 care for the client at home.
• Support daily living while respecting preferences and dignity.
• Learn to understand and respond to the client’s non-verbal cues.
• Promote independence, choice, dignity and inclusion.
• Assist with community activities and outings as appropriate.
• Maintain a calm, safe night-time environment.
• Document observations and communicate changes to the team.

Rate of Pay: £14.56 per hour
Hours: 36 hours per week on Waking Nights (8:00 PM - 8:00 AM)

We are seeking a Female Night Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive team, providing 1:1 care and support to a wonderful lady living at home with her family in Portland.

She has Perisylvian Polymicrogyria and requires specialist, round-the-clock support from a consistent and caring team. As she is non-verbal, you will learn to understand and respond to her unique ways of communicating, helping to ensure her needs, preferences, and wellbeing are always at the centre of the support provided. Full training will be given, making this an excellent opportunity for both experienced support workers and those looking to develop their skills in complex care.

This is a highly rewarding role supporting a lady who brings warmth, happiness, and a wonderful personality to those around her. You'll become an important part of her support network, helping to provide reassurance, comfort, and high-quality care throughout the night

Experience and Skills of a Support Worker:

• Full UK driving licence and confidence driving the client's vehicle.
• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, or behaviours of concern.
• Experience with non‑verbal communication and complex needs is helpful but not essential.
