Job summary

Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative in Carmarthenshire is seeking a Male Support Worker to help individuals with learning disabilities live fulfilled lives in the community. The role offers part-time and full-time hours, permanent contracts, and salary of £13.59 per hour. Sleep-ins are paid at £60 per night, with 55p per mile travel reimbursement.

Qualifications

Job description

As a Male Support Worker in Carmarthenshire, you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support.

We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, as a Support Worker, you can play a vital role in this.

Hours:

We have both part time and full time hours, please speak to us about the hours you are looking to do. Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins

Salary:

£13.59per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

Contract:

Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you’ll actively support individuals in making their own choices and set their own goals — whether it’s everyday decisions like what to wear, eat, or do, or something bigger such as where to live, how to manage their finances, or where to go on holiday.

As a trusted Support Worker, you'll empower people to follow through on these choices, including taking part in structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills. You’ll also offer practical support to help them meet responsibilities like paying bills, maintaining their homes, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family.

Your goal is to make everyday remarkable through enhancing well-being and focusing on the small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose. By offering this kind of person-centred support every day, this truly is a fun and rewarding role for the right person.

  • have access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 55p per mile to cover this
