You will create a safe, engaging environment, assist with daily routines, and help build confidence and independence through activities while providing respite for the family.
We are looking for kind, reliable, and engaging Support Worker's to spend afternoons each week, to support a young person with additional learning needs.
The main focus of this role is to provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment after school. You will help to build confidence, develop independence, and engage in activities while providing a bit of respite for family.
Engagement & Activities: Planning and sharing in fun, age-appropriate activities (e.g., arts and crafts, reading, baking, playing in the garden, or short outings to the local park).
Routine & Life Skills: Supporting with afternoon routines, such as preparing a light snack and encouraging simple independence skills.
Well-being: Providing attentive, patient, and compassionate care tailored to unique learning needs.
Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people with learning difficulties or additional needs is highly desirable.
Qualities: You should be naturally patient, enthusiastic, trustworthy, and a great communicator.
Reliability: Consistency is incredibly important to help build a strong, trusting relationship.
Requirements: A current DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and excellent references are essential. A clean driving license with business insurance is a plus but not mandatory.
