Lupa Collective Ltd is seeking a Family & Community Support Worker to assist children and young people in the community, helping them build confidence and independence while giving families respite. You will engage in activities, travel to events, and provide essential support to families in need.
We value patience, calmness under pressure, safeguarding awareness and the ability to work independently, with flexible hours to fit around family needs and community programs.
We are looking for a caring, reliable and confident Family & Community Support Worker to support children and young people and give families some much-needed support and respite.
This is a role where no two days are the same. You could be supporting a child out in the community, taking them to activities, helping them try something new, or simply spending time with them while giving their parent or carer respite.
We are particularly looking for someone who has experience supporting children and young people with Autism, ADHD and other neurodivergent needs, including children who may sometimes display challenging or physical behaviour.
The role will vary depending on the child and their individual needs, but may include:
We are looking for someone who is patient, calm, compassionate and genuinely enjoys working with children and young people.
You should be someone who can stay calm when things become difficult and understand that behaviour is often a way of communicating that something isn't right.
Experience with Autism, ADHD, SEND, neurodiversity, challenging behaviour or physical behaviour would be really valuable.
We know that flexibility is important, which is why we offer flexible hours around your availability and the needs of the families we support.
You'll also receive weekly pay and have the opportunity to do work that genuinely makes a difference.
This can be a great role for someone who wants work that fits around their life, whether you're looking for additional hours, part-time work or something more regular.
You won't be sitting behind a desk all day. You'll be out in the community, getting to know the children and families you support and helping them have positive experiences.
Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:
Autism | ADHD | SEND | Neurodiversity | Challenging Behaviour | Physical Behaviour | Positive Behaviour Support | Family Support | Respite | Social Care | Education | Youth Work
As you will be working directly with children and young people, an Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
Appropriate references and safeguarding checks will also be completed as part of the recruitment process.
If you're someone who genuinely enjoys helping others, doesn't panic when things get difficult and wants to do work that has a real purpose, we'd love to hear from you.
