Job summary

SeeMeHired in Canterbury seeks a compassionate care support worker to assist adults in daily life, delivering practical and emotional support per individual plans.

You will help with personal care and daily tasks, ensuring safeguarding and clear English communication at all times. Training and professional development are provided to support ongoing growth and skill-building. Applicants with a driving licence for community roles are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience in care, support, healthcare, or similar is desirable.
  • Basic safeguarding and health and safety knowledge.
  • Good spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and emotional support per individual plans.
  • Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Support daily living activities such as meal prep, shopping, cleaning, and chores.
  • Monitor changes in wellbeing and report to the appropriate person.
  • Follow individual care plans at all times.

Job description

  • Provide practical and emotional support to individuals according to their individual support plans
  • Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility where required
  • Support individuals with daily living activities, including meal preparation, shopping, cleaning, and household tasks.
  • Monitor and report any changes in an individual's physical, emotional, or mental wellbeing to the appropriate person.
  • Follow individual care and support plans at all times.
Essential
  • Experience working in a care, support, healthcare, or similar environment is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development.
Desirable
  • Previous experience supporting adults, elderly people, people with disabilities, or individuals with additional support needs.
  • Relevant Health and Social Care qualification.
  • Training in moving and handling.
  • Medication administration training.
  • First aid or basic life support training.
  • A valid driving licence, where the role requires travelling between locations or supporting individuals in the community.
