Job description

Support Worker - Bury St Edmunds

£25,845 per annum (Pro Rata) | Full time available - completing day and night shifts across 7 day week

Drivers preferred with a full UK manual licence

Want a career where you can smile, laugh, grow, and make a real difference every single day? Welcome to Avenues. At Avenues, we believe in a simple formula: well-supported people support people well. We invest deeply in our teams so you can deliver your very best and enjoy a feel-good, rewarding career. Whether you are looking for your next social care role or a meaningful career change, we want to hear from you.

You will join a fantastic, supportive team of 9 in Bury St Edmunds, working within a supported living environment to support 4 wonderful male adults with disabilities from acquired brain injuries. All four individuals are wheelchair users, highly active, and love getting the most out of life. They enjoy trips to the cinema, going out for lunch and dinner, themed evenings, arts and crafts, and watching their favourite quiz shows. Because one of the individuals has their own vehicle, drivers with a full UK manual licence are highly preferred so you can help them explore the community. It is also beneficial if you have business insurance for outreach work, though this is not essential.

No two days are the same, but your day might look like this!

  • Supporting our people to be engaged in all day-to-day living activities, including making full use of their community and beyond.
  • Supporting our people with social activities and connecting with family and friends.
  • Supporting the management of our people’s finances.
  • Keeping our people’s home clean and fresh, and going shopping.
  • Providing, and encouraging, personal care.
  • And enjoying what you do!
Benefits you can expect:
  • Early Pay - ability to access your earnings more frequently if you wish.
  • Paid enhanced DBS.
  • Flexible working.
  • Up to 28 days paid annual leave (pro rata).
  • Access to high quality training that supports your career development.
  • Contributory pension scheme with life assurance.
  • Shopping discounts via Blue Light Card and The Benefits website.
  • Recommend a friend scheme - earn up to £500.
  • Free and confidential 24/7 access to the health portal, counselling and support.

As part of our commitment to the "Disability Confident Scheme", candidates who declare a disability, and meet the key criteria for this role, will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities at the interview stage
