Job summary

Highfields in Chasetown, Staffordshire, is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to assist residents with daily living tasks and care plans, providing practical and emotional support to promote wellbeing and independence.

You will help with personal care, attend medical appointments, observe wellbeing, and report changes to senior staff. A healthcare qualification is desirable but not essential; right to work in the UK required. A friendly, patient approach is valued.

Responsibilities

  • Support attendance at medical appointments and family liaison as needed.
  • Encourage participation in social activities to promote independence.

Job description

Due to a genuine occupational requirement, you will ideally hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence for this particular role., As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, youll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.,

  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth

We offer residential support for eight people who are autistic or have a learning disability. Highfields is on the edge of a suburban area, close to a local Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
