Job summary

Cambian Group plc is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in Birmingham to provide compassionate, hands-on support to young people in residential services. Your day will combine practical care with engaging activities, helping youths feel secure, valued, and able to reach their potential.

Role includes focus on routine, homework support, and a safe home-like environment; DBS clearance and two references are required.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check is required.
• Two references covering the past two years are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to young people in residential services.
• Help with daily routines (home, meals, homework, activities) and keep the home environment safe and welcoming.
• Support transitions to school and community activities and promote positive, wellbeing-focused interactions.

Support Worker

£13.19 - £16.51 per hour (DoE) + £30 sleep rate

Our Residential Care Workers / Team Leaders are fundamental to the development of the young people in our homes, yes there will be challenges along the way, there will be crippling lows and immeasurable highs but every forward step is a cause for celebration and a simple “well done” goes a long way too!

Our homes accommodate young people aged 8>18 from a variety of backgrounds and with varying levels of social/emotional/mental health needs. Our aim is to create the best possible outcomes for them to allow every single one of them to reach their full potential.

The days can be long but…

You’ll make a genuine difference to our young people on a daily basis, you’ll ensure minimum interruption to their lives and pack their days full of the meaningful interaction’s others may take for granted.

Your day involves making sure they are up and ready for the day, this could mean ready for school or ready for a morning at the park, it means ensuring the service feels like “home” - running the hoover around, helping with homework or preparing dinner. Evenings and weekends are usually for fun, whether that’s playing videogames, a board game, or a trip to see a movie.

Yes! there is paperwork and planning but supporting our young people is never boring. The days may be long but time fly’s and the work really matters.

To kick things off we offer the best induction in the sector with two weeks of content delivered by experts face to face, we will also fund NVQ 3-4-5 if you show the capability and desire.

Pay: £28,000Aprx - £33,760 Aprx (Plus sleep-ins and depending on qualification and experience)

224 hrs (5.6 weeks) Annual Leave
