Job summary

Cambian Group is seeking a Senior Support Worker in Dudley to help young people aged 8–18 with daily routines, care, and development within a West Midlands home. You will lead shifts, supervise activities, and collaborate with the team to ensure a safe, supportive environment.

Join a dedicated team that values compassion, relationship-building, and safeguarding. A full UK driving licence and NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare are required; DBS checks and references will be performed.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent required.
  • Two years' experience in a residential setting preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

  • Support young people with daily routines: getting ready for school, meals, and activities.
  • Create a warm, homely environment through light housekeeping and supervision.
  • Lead shifts and deputise the home manager when required.
  • Build strong relationships and provide emotional support.
  • Plan and join activities and maintain essential care records.

Senior Support Worker

Location:Dudley

Pay: Up to £37,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)

What You’ll Do
  • As a Senior Support Worker you will support young people with their daily routines; Getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.
  • Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.
  • Lead shift and deputise home manager
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
  • Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects.
  • Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.
Where You’ll Do It

Fensgrove is a beautiful house that lives up to the expectation of being a home. It is decorated to a high standard with lots of homely characteristics, such as warm wallpaper, soft furnishings and accessories to match. Fensgrove is blessed to have a large outdoor space with a big garden and looks out onto the local nature reserve – which is beautiful to sit and look at on a lovely evening as the sun goes down. The garden is full of playful toys and a large paddling pool for those wonderful summer days.

We use our knowledge, understanding and aspects of PACE to help the children cope with any challenges that they may face. Who You Are
  • Warm, patient, a great listener and encourager - focused on achieving outcomes for others.
  • Driver with full UK driving licence, hold a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare and two years working experience in a residential setting.
