At Turning Point, we support people with Learning Disabilities across England.

As a Support Worker, you will make a real difference in people's lives by helping to improve their daily living skills. Where will I be working?

You will work in our service in Birchington, supporting 8 individuals. We offer a 24-hour supported living facility, providing tailored support to enable residents to be as independent as possible.

Support Workers are assigned to work with specific individuals based on shared preferences and personalities, forming a dedicated core team.

Support activities include helping residents meet with friends or family, access health professionals, do housework, shop, go on day trips, cook, go on holidays, and attend gym classes.

The people we support have a range of communication, mobility, and health needs, creating a calm but active environment. The location is accessible via local transport, close to the train station and bus routes, with the town nearby.

Shift Patterns

This is a 24-hour service, requiring flexibility. Shifts include days, nights, and some weekends.

Role Responsibilities

What will I be doing?

This is a hands-on role with varied daily tasks. Your duties will include:

• Promoting independence for the people we support
• Supporting daily activities such as cleaning, cooking, outings, and holidays
• Organizing activities within the home and community
• Developing residents' life skills and interests
• Ensuring residents' safety and health
• Assisting with personal care and medication
• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service monitoring

Salary: £24,020 for 37 hours, £29,214 for 45 hours, or £12.45 per hour.
