Job summary

Charles Hunter Associates is recruiting a dedicated Support Worker for a children’s residential home in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. This temporary-to-permanent full-time role offers a clear progression path and a competitive hourly rate.

You will support children and young people with life skills, daily records, safeguarding, meals, and family communication, work across early and late shifts, and collaborate with families and professionals.

Support Worker - Children's Residential Home

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire
Temporary to Permanent Full-Time Role
£13.33 per hour PAYE or £17.27 Umbrella

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Support Workers to join a children's residential home in Abingdon on a temporary-to-permanent basis.If you're passionate about supporting children and young people and want to make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

You will work directly with children and young people, supporting them with:

  • Life skills, appointments and family time
  • Creating a fun, safe and welcoming home environment
  • Daily records and online documentation
  • Communication with families and professionals
  • Safeguarding and medication
  • Meal preparation and general household tasks
About You
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Caring, patient and resilient
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable and flexible with shifts
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes
  • Drivers are particularly encouraged to apply, although this is not essential
Rota
  • 7:00am-2:30pm and 2:00pm-9:30pm
  • Ideally working an early/late weekly pattern
  • Every other weekend required, including split shifts
