Job summary

Brainkind’s Kent House in Aylesbury is seeking a Team Leader to guide a team delivering person-centred support to individuals on their rehabilitation journey.

You will supervise and develop staff, uphold high care standards, and ensure compliance with Brainkind policies and regulatory requirements, while building collaborative relationships with families and professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience in care, support or rehabilitation environment.
• Strong communication, written and verbal.
• Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
• Knowledge of care standards and safeguarding requirements.
• Competent IT skills with common software.

Responsibilities

About Kent House

Kent House is Brainkind’s specialist residential rehabilitation service in Aylesbury, providing continuing rehabilitation, specialist care, and support for people living with acquired brain injuries. The service is part of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT), a leading provider of neurorehabilitation services across the UK.

The Opportunity

As Team Leader, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality support services while leading, supervising, and developing a team of Support Workers. You will ensure that individuals receive person-centred support in line with their care plans, Brainkind policies, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of Support Workers.
• Promote and maintain high standards of care and professional practice.
• Build positive relationships with individuals, families, professionals, and other stakeholders.
• Support compliance with Brainkind quality audits and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with health and safety responsibilities across the service.
• Contribute to incident, accident, and safeguarding reporting.
• Support workforce planning and service delivery across the division when required.
• Represent Brainkind at meetings, events, and professional forums where appropriate.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Previous experience working within a care, support, or rehabilitation environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
• Good knowledge of care standards, health and safety, and safeguarding requirements.
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based systems.
• NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or willingness to achieve this within 12 months.
• A flexible, positive, and person-centred approach.
