Job summary

Cornerstone in the Scottish Borders is seeking caring Support Practitioners to join a dedicated team. Roles are full-time, part-time, or relief, offering permanent positions and a chance to make a real difference every day.

You’ll support adults with disabilities across the Borders, helping them live life their way. Training is provided; PVG and SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare are supported as you develop.

• No prior care experience required; training provided.

We provide support across the Scottish Borders, including Galashiels, Hawick, Jedburgh, Melrose, St Boswells, Earlston, and Tweedbank.

What we're looking for

You don't need previous experience, just bring the right attitude and we'll support you every step of the way!

We'll need you to have:

Shift Patterns

Because everyone we support is different, your shifts may be too:

• Shifts between 0715-2000 hours
• Weekends worked on a rotational basis

And occasionally:

• Later shifts for activities, concerts and shows
• Sleepovers to support holidays and trips away

We're looking to fill these vacancies as soon as possible and may close our advert early if we find suitable candidates before the closing date.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.

If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
