Job summary

Cornerstone in Cumbernauld is hiring a part‑time community support worker to help people live independently at home and in the community. Flexible 16–30 hours per week with shift patterns 8am–4pm or 10am–10pm, including sleepovers paid at £134.50.

No experience? No problem—full training and funded qualifications are provided. You will support with meals, personal care, medications, finances, activities and social events, with driving licence required.

Qualifications

  • No experience required; training provided.
  • Full UK manual driving licence required.
  • Willing to work shifts including early/late, weekends and sleepovers (paid).
  • Needs to register with SSSC within 3 months of starting.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to live independently at home and in the community.
  • Assist with cooking meals and daily living tasks.
  • Provide personal care and assist with medications.
  • Assist with managing personal finances.
  • Support participation in activities and social events in the community.

Our brilliant community support team in Cumbernauld are looking for new team members to join them on a permanent part-time basis (16-30 hours per week).

You’ll build a genuine relationship with each of the individuals and be part of moments that really matter; whether it’s providing support to cook a meal, achieve a goal, try something new or just feel understood.

Due to the people we support having their own mobility cars, we would need you to have a full manual UK drivers licence.

Some of the individuals enjoys swimming so you would need to be happy to support them in the water.

Shift patterns

Our team provides tailored support with shifts typically being from 8am-4pm and or 10am-10pm 7 days a week. Weekends and public holidays will form part of your rota on a rotational basis. Some of the people we support also have a requirement for a sleepover.

Sleepovers don’t form part of your contract hours, for these shifts you would receive an additional payment of £134.50.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
