Job summary

Turning Point Scotland is seeking a Support Practitioner for our Dumfries & Galloway Learning Disabilities Services, based in Castle Douglas and Newton Stewart. The role offers Full Time, Part Time or Relief hours with a permanent contract and a pro rata salary of £25,879–£26,843.

You will provide individualised support, engaging people in hobbies and activities to empower growth, while promoting skills and independence.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Support Practitioner, unlike other support roles, with Turning Point Scotland, no two days are the same!

You will provide individualised support to each person and engaging them with hobbies and interests to empower individuals to develop skills and independence.

We are a residential service and support people with mental health issues, physical health & learning disabilities. As a team we provide 24/7 support to live their best lives by:-

Where there is a requirement for sleepover shifts, you will receive, on top of your £13.45 ph, an additional £107.60 for every sleepover shift you work!

Our Support Practitioner role will include:

  • Helping to provide individualised support to adults with a wide range of needs, either on an individual 1:1 basis or alongside others and as part of a team.
  • Supporting individuals within the community and engaging with their hobbies and interests & empowering individuals to develop skills and independence, promoting their overall growth.
  • Attending various community groups and accompanying our service users to attend activities they are passionate about, from taking a trip to the cinema, enjoying a morning swim or attending local groups or community projects, accompany on holidays and trips away with the individuals we support.
  • Assist with personal care, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing.
  • Celebrate achievements and milestones, both big and small, to create a rewarding and positive environment.
