Job summary

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is expanding in Greenock and seeks a motivated, caring Support Practitioner to join a full-time, permanent team. A full UK manual driving licence with at least 1 year of driving experience is essential as mobility cars are used by the people we support.

No care experience is required, as full training including a fully funded SVQ will be provided. You will support individuals with daily living tasks, life skills, and emotional guidance to help them thrive at home

Responsibilities

Job description

We're expanding in Greenock!!

Our fabulous team is on the lookout for a motivated and creative *female colleague with a positive attitude to join them as a Support Practitioner on a full-time, permanent basis. If you share our values and looking for job satisfaction, then we want to hear from you!

For this role, it is essential that you hold a full UK manual driving licence with a minimum of 1 years' driving experience as the people we support have their own mobility cars.

You don't need experience in care to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We'll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Support Practitioner including a fully funded SVQ.

The Role

As a Support Practitioner, you will support individuals on an outcome-based programme which will see them grow in confidence and learn life skills to increase their independence. You'll take an active interest in their hobbies with include going out for walks and to their social clubs, volunteering and shopping.

The people we support have a range of different needs including mental health, learning disabilities, autism, addictions, criminal justice and past trauma. You'll play a key role in assisting with daily living tasks including meal preparation, medication management, attending appointments and activities, handling personal finances, and personal care. As well as practical support, you'll also offer emotional guidance and help individuals maintain meaningful relationships with their family and friends, empowering them to thrive in their own homes and communities

With your help, you'll enable the individuals to explore new opportunities and reduce social isolation.

Shift patterns

Our dedicated team provide tailored support 24/7 and our shifts include earlies from 7:30am, back shifts until 8/9pm and sleepovers which are 24 hours. These roles do involve working weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis.

The sleepover part of your shift is not included in your contracted hours so for every sleepover you cover you will be paid an additional €107.60.

All successful Support Practitioner applicants will be given a conditional offer - this is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and PVG; having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector. All new staff members will be required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of their start date.
