Job summary

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool is seeking a Support Medical Secretary to assist the Administrative Services Department. Location: Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Paddington.

Key duties include transcribing clinical correspondence, maintaining high standards of patient care, and providing flexible cover for other secretaries as needed. A DBS check may be required and DBS costs may be deducted from salary.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
  • RSA II typing and audio or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • ECDL.
  • Medical terminology knowledge.
  • Experience in an office environment and healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Transcribing clinical correspondence in support of our team of Medical Secretaries.
  • Produce accurate clinical correspondence in a timely manner within our current KPI while maintaining patient care standards.
  • Complete necessary actions required for urgent correspondence.
  • Work alongside and cover other Support Secretaries during absences.
  • Provide cover for Medical Secretary absences as requested by the Assistant Service Managers.
  • Provide additional Admin Support as requested by the Assistant Service Managers.

The Administrative Services Department based at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, is recruiting a Support Medical Secretary who will support the Department in meeting the Trust's vision to Transform Cancer Care.

Location: Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Paddington

Main duties of the job
  • Transcribing clinical correspondence in support of our team of Medical Secretaries.
  • Produce accurate clinical correspondence in a timely manner within our current 5 day KPI whilst maintaining the highest standard of patient care
  • Completing necessary actions required for urgent correspondence
  • Work alongside and cover other Support Secretaries during absences
  • Provide cover for Medical Secretary absences where required (with supervision) as requested by the Assistant Service Managers.
  • Provide additional Admin Support as requested by the Assistant Service Managers.
