Job summary

SSE Smart Buildings is seeking a Smart Buildings Support Engineer to join the BMS Support team on a field-based basis across Reading and surrounding areas. You will carry out pre-planned maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and drive energy performance improvements while expanding your skills within a market-leading SSE group.

The role offers flexible first options, permanent full-time employment, and opportunities to travel between client sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with Trend or Tridium BEMS/HVAC Building Controls.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rota.
• Strong communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Full driving licence for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Carry out BMS pre planned maintenance, small upgrades and additional works.
• Respond to and resolve reactive breakdowns, including out-of-hours standby.
• Identify system improvements to enhance energy performance.
• Provide detailed, concise reports based on onsite activities.

The role

As part of our growth plans, we are looking for a Smart Buildings Support Engineer to join our BMS Support team. You will

• Carry out BMS pre planned maintenance, small upgrades and additional works
• Respond to and resolve reactive breakdowns, both within core business hours and as part of the out of hours standby team.
• Identify system improvements such as upgrades, system enhancements and software improvements to ensure energy performance is being managed efficiently.
• Provide detailed and concise reports based upon your onsite activities.

You have

• Good technical experience, Trend or Tridium BEMS/HVAC Building Controls.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain a collaborative working environment with all stakeholders, including customers and external service providers.
• Sound levels of customer service, with a professional approach and a dedication to meeting customer expectations, including delivering technical support, coaching and direction.
• An agile working approach, with flexibility to support an on-call rota structure.
• A full driving licence, as you will be travelling to different sites.
