Job summary

Storal’s Marina Nursery School on the University of Lincoln campus is seeking a nurturing Early Years educator. You will support children with flexible shifts—full days or parts of days—while contributing to a creative, EYFS-aligned program in a stimulating setting by Brayford Pool.

Ideal applicants hold a Level 2+ Early Years qualification, with experience as an Early Years Educator/Nursery Nurse. We value curiosity, kindness, and collaborative teamwork in a vibrant nursery community.

Responsibilities

Hi, I'm Sam, the Nursery Manager at The Marina.

Located on the University of Lincoln campus, our nursery thrives on strong relationships with families, students, and the wider community.

Our beautifully designed spaces—from the magical reading treehouse loft to our bright, open-plan rooms—create a stimulating and engaging environment that supports every child’s development.

How you’ll spend your time here

You’ll be helping to providecover for the children asand when needed. This could befor periods of holiday, sickness, or evenvacancy gaps. Sometimes you'll support forafull day, or it may just be amorning or afternoon session. You'll likely start most of yourdays with afully formulated plan.... That will soonget completely derailed though... Pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care!

Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows forhands onarts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged. Of course we work within theEYFS standards, but that doesn't stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.

Ideally hold a Level 2 or abovequalified, Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar and you're looking for anEarly Years Educator/Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner role that allows you flexibility of working shifts around your other commitments.

You enjoy supporting and encouragingthenaturalcuriosity and excitement of young children and werebornto teach and shape the future of our younger generations.

You have a natural,nurturing, openness, awarm and positive outlook, and youcare about learning andeducation standards in the UK.

(We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, so if you can demonstrate the necessary values and enthusiasm for working within this environment,).

What you'll need

• A full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification within early years.
• Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5, is advantageous
• Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable
