Job summary

Matchtech Group is assisting a leading energy and infrastructure organisation to recruit a permanent Support Driver / Storeman in Acton. You will support repair and maintenance crews by operating vehicles and plant, preparing sites, delivering materials and handling general stores tasks to keep projects flowing smoothly.

Role requires driving licence, experience with articulated dumpers up to 15t, and a solid understanding of safety practices.

Qualifications

• Experience operating articulated chassis dumpers up to 15 tonnes.
• Understanding of safe working practices in energy/utilities/construction.
• NRSWA Units 1 & 2 for Signing, Lighting and Guarding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and plant machinery safely, including up to 15-tonne dumpers.
• Support repairs crews on highways and commercial premises.
• Set up and close sites; deliver and position signs and barriers.

Job description

Our client, a leading organisation in the energy and infrastructure sector, is seeking a permanent Support Driver / Storeman to join its operational team in Acton. The role involves supporting repair and maintenance crews through the safe operation of vehicles and plant machinery, site preparation, deliveries and general stores-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating vehicles and plant machinery safely, including articulated chassis dumpers up to 15 tonnes
• Supporting operational teams working on highways, private properties and commercial premises
• Setting up and closing work sites, including the delivery and positioning of signs and barriers
• Delivering materials and running out fittings to site teams
• Carrying out letter drops and assisting with communication to local residents
• Checking that work areas are safe before activities begin and following completion
• Helping to minimise disruption to residents, businesses and road users
• Maintaining vehicles, plant and equipment in a clean, safe and serviceable condition

Job Requirements:

• Experience operating articulated chassis dumpers up to 15 tonnes
• A full UK driving licence
• Understanding of safe working practices within the energy, utilities or construction sectors
• NRSWA qualifications, including Units 1 and 2 for Signing, Lighting and Guarding, would be advantageous
• Abrasive Wheels training would be beneficial
• Demonstrable ability to undertake physically demanding work in outdoor environments
• Good organisational skills and a reliable, practical approach to work
• Commitment to health and safety, teamwork and excellent customer service
