Job summary

Clancy is hiring a Water Mainlaying Support Driver to back up our field crews across Kent and Sussex. You’ll help deliver materials, tools and equipment to sites and support water main installation projects in a busy outdoor environment.

The role requires a full driving licence and NRSWA Units 1 and 2, along with strong organisational skills and a proactive safety mindset. Previous utilities/ construction exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence and NRSWA Units 1 & 2 (Signing, Lighting and Guarding) are required or highly desirable.
• Strong organisational skills and a good work ethic are essential.
• Comfort with physically demanding outdoor environments is expected.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operation of vehicle and plant machinery.
• Assist worksites in highway and private properties; set up/close sites; deliver signs, barriers and fittings.
• Maintain a safe working environment before, during and after works.
• Minimise disruption to residents.

As a Water Mainlaying Support Driver, you will play a vital role in supporting our operational teams by ensuring materials, tools, plant, and equipment are delivered safely and efficiently to sites across the Kent and Sussex Region.

You will be responsible for assisting water mainlaying crews with day to day activities, and ensuring teams have the resources they need to carry out essential water main installation. Without your support, our teams would be unable to deliver the water infrastructure that keeps fresh water flowing to thousands of homes and businesses.

Here are just some of the activities you’ll be involved in...

• Ensure the safe operation of vehicle & plant machinery
• Assist teams carrying out works in the highway and on private property and premises , helping to set up site and close, delivering signs & barriers, running out fittings to the team and letter drops
• Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring sites are safe prior to start and following completion of work
• Minimise disruption to residents

We'd love to hear from you if...

If you hold a full driving licence, NRSWA Units 1 and 2 (Signing, Lighting and Guarding), have good organisational skills, a strong work ethic, and enjoy working in a physically demanding outdoor environment, we would love to hear from you.
Previous experience within the utilities, construction, or water industry would be advantageous, but a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to safety are equally important.
