Job summary

St Bede's Catholic Primary, Denton Burn, is seeking a committed Support Assistant Level 2 to provide 1:1 SEN support in the classroom and work closely with staff to ensure learning needs are met. You will deliver personalised provision, monitor progress, and contribute to pastoral care while upholding the school’s Catholic ethos and safeguarding standards.

Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Support Assistant Level 2 to join our team, providing key SEN support within the classroom on a 1:1 basis and working closely with other teaching staff and SENDCO to ensure provision is effective and that learning needs are met. Job overview As a Support Assistant - Level 2, you'll provide personalised SEN provision on a 1:1 basis, supporting the pupil in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level and adapting the learning to make it accessible for students with specific needs. This role also involves providing pastoral support, and you'll monitor progress to feed back to the class teacher whilst working closely with relevant staff to ensure an individual reaches their full potential. We are looking for a candidate who:

• Is a practising catholic or willing to support the catholic ethos of our school.
• Is a committed individual who is able to contribute to supporting all of the pupils in our school and who will strive to make a difference to their lives.
• Has experience in supporting SEND pupils.
• Has a hard working, positive attitude to school life.
• Has a good working knowledge of the primary curriculum.
