Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is recruiting Supply Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Allestree, Mackworth, Darley Abbey and the wider DE22 area in Derby. Roles include EYFS, KS1 and KS2 with day-to-day, short-term and longer-term placements.

Opportunities are available full-time, part-time and flexible; weekly PAYE salaries of £450-£500. Immediate starts available from November with ongoing work and free accredited CPD.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a UK primary school or similar setting.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above.
• Ability to support pupils individually and in small groups.
• Good communication skills and a patient, professional approach.

Connex Education is currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Allestree, Mackworth, Darley Abbey and the wider DE22 area of Derby.

With schools now back following the October half term, we are looking for reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants who are available to start work immediately or throughout November, supporting local primary schools for the remainder of the autumn term and beyond.

Whether you are looking for five days a week, a few regular days, or flexible supply work around other commitments, we would like to hear from you.

Opportunities are available across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, including day-to-day cover, short-term assignments and longer-term placements.

The Role

As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and school staff to help pupils get the most from their school day.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups.
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery.
• Helping pupils remain engaged and focused on their learning.
• Supporting positive behaviour within the classroom.
• Working with pupils who may require additional learning or behavioural support.
• Helping create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

We would particularly like to hear from candidates who have:

• Recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or similar educational setting.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above.
• Confidence supporting pupils individually and in small groups.
• Good communication skills and a patient, professional approach.
• A reliable and flexible attitude.
• The ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms and school environments.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

You must have the right to work in the UK to apply.
