Zusammenfassung

Randstad Education is seeking an experienced teaching assistant with specialist SEN experience to join a specialist school in Wallington, near Croydon, on a supply (ad hoc) basis. The role focuses on 1:1 and small group support to help students overcome emotional challenges, engage with learning, and build positive relationships.

The position offers daily rate of £88-£93 with working hours 8:30–4:30, across any day in the school week.

Qualifikationen

• GCSEs in English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or higher.
• Proven background working with children or young people with SEND.
• Excellent communication, patience, emotional resilience and proactive work ethic.
• High degree of empathy, professionalism and ability to establish trust with vulnerable pupils.

• Provide targeted academic and behavioural support to individual pupils or small groups.
• Assist class teachers with classroom management, lesson preparation and learning activities.
• Help create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.
• Support pupils with emotional self-control and conflict resolution using positive behaviour strategies.
• Monitor student progress and report achievements or challenges to teaching staff.
• Escort and support pupils during lunch breaks, physical activities and school trips where required.

Salary: £88-£93 per day // Working Hours: 8:30-4:30 Any day during the working week.

Qualifications & Essential Criteria

• GCSEs in English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or higher (or equivalent standard). Holding a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred by not essential.
• Proven background working alongside children or young people with SEND.
• Excellent communication skills, patience, emotional resilience, and a proactive work ethic.
• A high degree of empathy, strong professionalism, and the capability to establish trust with vulnerable or challenging pupils.
