Job description

Location: Driffield, East Riding of Yorkshire

GSL Education is currently seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Supply Teachers to support secondary schools in Driffield, East Riding of Yorkshire. This role involves delivering engaging, pre-planned lessons in the absence of regular classroom teachers, ensuring continuity in students’ learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Supply Teacher Requirements:

• Recent classroom experience within the last two years (PGCE placements accepted).
• Have UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills.
• Be a strong communicator with staff and students alike.
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered to the update service, or willingness to apply for one via GSL Education.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new school environments and routines.

Supply Teacher Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons in line with the school curriculum, adapting content as necessary.
• Maintain a focused and orderly classroom in line with school behaviour policies.
• Accurately record attendance and report any issues or concerns to relevant staff.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supervise pupils during lesson time and transitions, including break and lunch times.
