About The Role

Are you interested in supply planning, stock management and working with suppliers to drive commercial performance? Whether you're an experienced Supply Planner or looking to develop your skills in a supply chain role, we're looking for someone with strong analytical skills, a proactive approach and a passion for continuous improvement to join our Industrial Hose Division at Arco.

You'll take ownership of supply planning for over 1,000 SKUs sourced from suppliers across the UK, Europe and the Rest of the World, balancing customer demand, inventory levels and commercial objectives. Working closely with Sales, Operations, Warehouse and Suppliers, you'll help improve product availability, manage supply chain challenges and drive supplier performance. If you're analytical, commercially minded and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.

This role is a full time position, Monday to Friday 08:30 till 17:00 on a Hybrid basis based onsite at our Hose Division in Hessle and from Home.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Optimising stock availability and inventory levels, balancing customer service requirements with budget targets and safety stock policies.

  • Developing and maintaining rolling supplier forecasts, taking account of customer demand, new business opportunities, lead times and supplier capacity.

  • Building strong supplier relationships and driving improvements in supplier performance, service levels and supply reliability.

  • Working with Sales, Operations and Warehouse teams to resolve supply and demand challenges and manage product introductions and discontinuations.

  • Maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), SAP production planning data and product information within the PIM system.

  • Managing bespoke customer orders from sourcing and planning through to shipping and logistics.

  • Analysing supplier costs, pricing and performance, challenging price increases where appropriate and managing pricing updates.

  • Providing commercial reporting and recommendations on excess stock, inventory risks, supplier performance and pricing changes to support business decisions.

  • Supporting stock transfers and identifying opportunities to improve planning processes, inventory efficiency and overall supply chain performance.

On top of working for the UK’s leading integrated health and safety experts, you’ll also receive:

  • A competitive starting salary plus bonus

  • 32 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays

  • Opportunity to purchase 5 additional days annual leave each calendar year (subject to qualifying salary)

  • 2 fully paid Community Volunteering days every year

  • An excellent pension (up to 8% Arco contribution) and x4 Life Assurance scheme

  • A huge range of discounts to help with cost of living via Perkbox plus Employee Discount on Arco products

  • Free, 24-hour access to our Employee Assistance Programme

  • Health Cash Plan where we'll reimburse up to 100% of everyday healthcare costs

  • Access to our Learning Management System, to support your personal and career development

  • Long-term service awards – we’re proud to have employees who have worked for us for 40 years

The ideal Supply Planner will be/have:

  • Experience in an inventory management or similar supply chain role would be beneficial but is not essential.

  • Good working knowledge of SAP, particularly stock control and production planning systems.

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make commercially sound recommendations.

  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Strong relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to challenge supplier costs and identify opportunities to improve value.

  • A logical, organised and proactive approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to adapt to changing business requirements.
