Job description

Supply Chain Strategist

Location: Flexible Hybrid across any of our UK offices

As we prepare for significant growth across the UK construction and infrastructure market, we're looking for an experienced, commercially astute and market-facing Supply Chain Strategist to build and strengthen our supply chain capability for the years ahead. This isn't a traditional procurement role. It's a pivotal, strategic position focused on making sure we have the capacity, capability, expertise and geographic reach to deliver an expanding pipeline of work across healthcare, nuclear, defence, life sciences and other complex, highly regulated environments. The objective is simple: build the right supply chain today, so we can successfully deliver tomorrow's workload.

What We're Looking For

  • Someone who genuinely understands the UK MEP market - not just how to run a tender process, but how the specialist subcontractor landscape actually works.

  • You'll build trusted relationships with contractors and suppliers, anticipate future demand before it becomes urgent, spot capacity constraints before they become a problem, and create strategic partnerships that give us a real competitive edge.

  • A strategic thinker who can translate long-term growth plans into practical supply chain requirements

  • Naturally curious about the market - always tracking trends, investment programmes and emerging capacity gaps

  • Commercially sharp, with a clear-eyed understanding of cost, risk and value creation

  • A credible relationship-builder, equally comfortable with subcontractor SMEs and senior industry leaders

  • Proactive by instinct - someone who identifies risks and opportunities well before they land on a project team's desk

  • Collaborative, working naturally across commercial, procurement, operations and business development

  • Entrepreneurial and pragmatic - someone who understands the realities of delivery, not just theory

What You'll Bring

  • Significant experience within UK MEP contracting, construction, engineering or infrastructure

  • A proven track record in supply chain development, procurement, preconstruction, commercial management or operational leadership

  • Strong understanding of the specialist trade contractor and subcontractor markets

  • Experience building strategic supplier partnerships that last

  • Excellent commercial and contractual awareness

  • Strong negotiation, relationship management and influencing skills

  • The ability to assess subcontractor capability, capacity, financial strength and delivery risk

  • Strong analytical and strategic planning capability

Experience (Essential)

  • Significant experience within UK MEP contracting, construction, engineering or infrastructure sectors

  • Proven track record in supply chain development, procurement, preconstruction, commercial management or operational leadership

  • Strong understanding of specialist trade contractor and subcontractor markets

  • Excellent commercial and contractual awareness

Desirable Experience

  • Supporting major public sector projects and frameworks

  • Knowledge of NHS procurement and healthcare construction

  • Experience within Defence, Nuclear or other highly regulated industries

  • Understanding of security-cleared environments

  • Experience with framework agreements and alliance contracting models

  • Familiarity with modern methods of construction, digital construction and offsite manufacturing

Our Values

  • People First: It starts with health, safety and wellbeing

  • Better Together: A collaborative team

  • Trusted Partners: Dedicated to our clients' success

  • Taking Responsibility: Making a positive difference
