The Opportunity/Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Supply Chain Planner to join our operations in Huntingdon, Cambs. Reporting to the Head of Supply Planning, you will play a key role in developing and executing supply chain production and purchasing plans for our Fabrications division within a well-established, market-leading company.


Main Responsibilities

  1. Develop credible plans to meet customer demands, considering inventory, logistics, and storage. Ensure pre-production activities are completed to maintain accurate data and supply plans, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  2. Utilize the business ERP system to interpret and implement planned proposals generated via MRP outputs.
  3. Manage your supply chain responsibilities, including order book/project plans, to support business priorities and satisfy customer demands.
  4. Provide feedback on vulnerabilities and opportunities during the Integrated Business Planning cycle and collaborate on developing solutions.
  5. Understand inventory and logistics implications across the value stream, optimizing inventory while minimizing delivery risks and costs.
  6. Respond robustly to Sales and Operations Planning inquiries through the IBP process.
  7. Participate in business and operational reviews to assess capability, identify risks, and define mitigation actions.
  8. Adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements

  1. Extensive experience in Production Planning and scheduling within manufacturing or engineering environments; purchasing experience is a plus.
  2. Decisive, well-organized, systematic, and rigorous in planning and prioritization.
  3. Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills.
  4. Proven ability to deliver results through stakeholder and customer collaboration.
  5. Strong analytical and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel essential, Power BI preferred), ERP systems (Dynamics AX preferred), and MRP software.
  6. Experience with S&OP/IBP environments is advantageous.
  7. Proactive in challenging existing processes for improvement.
  8. Self-motivated, independent, and energetic in driving continuous improvement.
