Job summary

Greencore Group plc is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager for a 2-year fixed-term contract at the Wembley site. The role involves leading a manufacturing unit’s supply chain, driving a major systems integration programme across multiple sites, and rotating across different locations over four 6-month periods, starting January 2027.

You will oversee forecasting, planning, inventory, warehousing and distribution, while steering cross-site teams and third‑party contracts to optimise cost

Responsibilities

• Lead a supply chain team for a manufacturing unit to deliver business plans and targets.
• Implement supply chain strategy to achieve budgeted performance and build capability.
• Provide leadership to keep safety, engagement and development across the function.
• Promote safe operating policies and practices across supply chain operations.
• Identify and plan for legal or customer audit requirements to maximise adherence to policy.
• Ensure forecasting, planning, material requisitions, stock control and warehousing are in place across locations.
• Oversee S&OP deployment to ensure capacity, stocks and labor meet customer orders cost-effectively.
• Negotiate and manage third party contracts with Purchasing to minimise costs and ensure service delivery.
• Act as Supply Chain lead in cross-functional projects for new implementations and service improvements.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Supply Chain professional to join us on a 2 year FTC in a site-based role, providing cover for our Supply Chain Managers as they focus on a major systems integration programme across our sites.

Starting at Greencore Park Royal , you'll take on a 6-month rotation, before moving to another site as the programme progresses. We are looking for someone to start in role in January 2027.

Over 2 years, you'll complete 4 6-month rotations , providing valuable experience across different sites, teams and Supply Chain operations.

What you'll be doing

• As Supply Chain Manager , you will lead a supply chain team, for a manufacturing unit, to ensure that functional capability and team performance are built and directed to deliver business plans and targets.
• Implement the agreed supply chain strategy to achieve budgeted business performance and build the functional capability to deliver business strategic objectives
• Provide leadership and direction to ensure that across the business the supply chain team are kept safe, engaged, focused, developed and delivering to their potential
• Promote compliance with and the improvement of safe operating policies and practices across all supply chain operations within the business, including third parties to embed a safety first culture within the working environment
• Identify new/emerging legal or customer led audit requirements and develop plans to achieve compliance, securing funds if necessary to build systems and processes to maximise adherence to policy
• Ensure forecasting, planning, material requisitions, stock control, warehousing and distribution processes are in place at all locations to ensure customer service expectations are met in the most efficient and cost effective manner
• Oversee the deployment of the Sales and Operating planning process to ensure sufficient production capacity, stocks or finished goods and raw materials, and labour are in place to meet customer orders at the best optimum cost
• Together with Purchasing, negotiate and manage third party contracts to minimise costs, build effective working relationships and ensure service delivery
• Act as the Supply Chain lead in cross functional/customer projects to ensure that all developments include collaborative working which results in successful new implementations and ongoing service improvement

Knowledge of the convenience food market

Experience across all supply chain functions (forecasting, production planning and scheduling, standard operating procedure (SOP), inventory management, warehousing, distribution planning, distribution operations, third-party logistics management)

Experience of leading and developing teams

Experience of working in a fast paced, growth industry or business

Experience of working as part of a project team or on delivering change initiatives
