Job summary

Greencore Heathrow is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager for a 2-year fixed-term contract, covering for managers during a major systems integration programme across sites. Starting with a 6-month rotation at Greencore Heathrow, the role moves to another site as the programme progresses, with a January 2027 start.

Over two years, you will complete four 6-month rotations, gaining breadth across sites, teams and Supply Chain operations, while driving improvements and delivering business

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the convenience food market.
• Experience across forecasting, planning, SOP, inventory, warehousing, distribution and third-party logistics management.
• Experience of leading and developing teams.
• Experience in a fast paced, growth industry or business.
• Experience in working as part of a project team or delivering change initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead a supply chain team to deliver business plans and targets for a manufacturing unit.
• Implement the agreed supply chain strategy to achieve budgeted performance.
• Provide leadership to ensure safety, engagement and development across the function.
• Promote safety policies and practices across supply chain operations, including third parties.
• Identify audit requirements and develop plans to achieve compliance.
• Ensure forecasting, planning, stock control, warehousing and distribution processes across locations meet customer service targets.
• Oversee the Sales and Operating Planning process to align capacity, materials and labour with orders.
• Negotiate third-party contracts with Purchasing to minimise costs and ensure service delivery.
• Act as Supply Chain lead in cross-functional projects to deliver improvements and new implementations.

We’re looking for an experienced Supply Chain professional to join us on a 2 year FTC in a site-based role, providing cover for our Supply Chain Managers as they focus on a major systems integration programme across our sites.

Starting at Greencore Heathrow, you’ll take on a 6-month rotation, before moving to another site as the programme progresses. We are looking for someone to start in role in January 2027.

What you’ll be doing

As Supply Chain Manager, you willlead a supply chain team, for a manufacturing unit, to ensure that functional capability and team performance are built and directed to deliver business plans and targets.

• Implement the agreed supply chain strategy to achieve budgeted business performance and build the functional capability to deliver business strategic objectives
• Provide leadership and direction to ensure that across the business the supply chain team are kept safe, engaged, focused, developed and delivering to their potential
• Promote compliance with and the improvement of safe operating policies and practices across all supply chain operations within the business, including third parties to embed a safety first culture within the working environment
• Identify new/emerging legal or customer led audit requirements and develop plans to achieve compliance, securing funds if necessary to build systems and processes to maximise adherence to policy
• Ensure forecasting, planning, material requisitions, stock control, warehousing and distribution processes are in place at all locations to ensure customer service expectations are met in the most efficient and cost effective manner
• Oversee the deployment of the Sales and Operating planning process to ensure sufficient production capacity, stocks or finished goods and raw materials, and labour are in place to meet customer orders at the best optimum cost
• Together with Purchasing, negotiate and manage third party contracts to minimise costs, build effective working relationships and ensure service delivery
• Act as the Supply Chain lead in cross functional/customer projects to ensure that all developments include collaborative working which results in successful new implementations and ongoing service improvement
