Job summary

SSE plc is offering a 12-month fixed-term, full-time role as Supply Chain Manager within the Transmission Procurement and Commercial team. You will develop procurement strategies and contracts for Consultancy and Support Contracts, liaising with project teams and group category management.

Reporting to the Procurement and Commercial Manager, you will own supply chain intelligence, drive tendering activities, manage supplier performance data and contribute to group-wide procurement outcomes

Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent with professional recognition.
Experience in managing supply chain activities across large projects.
Experience of managing frameworks/contracts on significant projects or programmes of work.
Knowledge of procurement processes, strategy development and implementation, preferably in regulated environments.
Experience with NEC forms of contract, including drafting and administration.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of specific subject area and be the primary contact for Transmission customers.
Coordinate with Group Category Management to align demand with group procurement strategies.
Incorporate Transmission procurement strategies into group plans and support procurement events.
Lead ad-hoc tendering for Transmission-specific events, manage tender processes and contract terms.
Oversee supplier engagement, KPI data collection and reporting on supplier performance.
