Job description

Firmin Recruit is working with a long-established manufacturing client based in Camberwell, SE5.

Our client has been in operation for 49 years and is experiencing growth. They are currently seeking an experienced Procurement Officer/Manager to join their friendly team.

The company supplies a variety of customers, including those in manufacturing and retail, and aims to stay ahead in the industry.

Details:

• Hours: 9 am - 5 pm, Monday to Friday
• Benefits: 23 days holiday + Bank Holidays, Pension, Gym Membership, etc.

This is an office-based role. Please note that parking is not available; the nearest tube station is Denmark Hill.

The Role:

You will assist the Purchasing Manager by efficiently placing purchase orders and planning deliveries of raw materials to meet company and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop effective working relationships with internal stakeholders such as production, warehouse, planning, and sales.
• Identify the best prices and services with suppliers, and explore new supplier options.
• Work continually to improve internal processes and procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum of two years' experience in a purchasing role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in SAP for procurement processes; experience with NetSuite is preferred.
• Proven success in managing supplier relationships.
• Strong commercial and business acumen.
• Excellent negotiating, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team across departments.
• Experience in handling day-to-day supplier communication.
• Experience purchasing raw materials, metals, and packaging.
• Strong communication skills and CRM experience in purchasing.
• Reside within a one-hour commute of SE5.
