Job summary

The Compleat Food Group in Clitheroe is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead planning, stock, materials and warehouse operations. You will drive end-to-end supply chain performance, manage budgets and teams, and implement continuous improvement to cut costs and boost service levels.

With a degree-level qualification and a background in food manufacturing or FMCG, you will shape the site’s supply chain strategy and partner with stakeholders to deliver operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain.
• Experience leading managers or supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end supply chain operations, including planning, inventory, warehousing, budgets, logistics and stock control.
• Create and monitor KPIs and monthly performance packs for risks and improvements.
• Lead your team with clear accountability and high performance.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and streamline operations.
• Ensure appropriate stockholding of raw materials and packaging.
• Record and control movements through the supply chain with proper documentation.
• Liaise with Group Supply Chain to align and improve performance.
• Ensure resources, skills and systems meet responsibilities.
• Undertake additional projects to support business objectives.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our team in Clitheroe! This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the site's planning, stock, materials and warehouse operations, ensuring an efficient cost-effective supply chain that supports both production and customer demands. You'll lead the end-to-end flow of materials and finished goods, managing stockholding, labour and associated costs while driving operational performance across the supply chain. Working closely with key stakeholders, you'll use your leadership, commercial awareness and continuous improvement mindset to optimise processes, enhance service levels and ensure the business is well positioned to achieve its operational and strategic objectives., Our team of c6,000 remarkable individuals forms the core of all that we undertake. Their genuine passion drives the creation of delectable products for UK consumers, prominent retailers, and our thrilling market-leading brands such as Wall's Pastry, Squeaky Bean, and Unearthed

Working hours:

Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 5pm, Friday 8:30am - 4pm.

Your Duties Will Include:

• Managing end-to-end supply chain operations, including planning, inventory, warehousing, budgets, logistics and stock control.
• Creating and monitoring a suite of KPIs and producing a monthly performance pack to review functional performance, risks and improvement actions.
• Managing the performance of your team, ensuring clear accountability and high performance.
• Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and streamline operations.
• Ensuring appropriate stockholding of raw materials and packaging, both on and off site.
• Ensuring all relevant documentation is used accurately to record and control movements through the supply chain.
• Liaising with the Group Supply Chain to improve functional capability, alignment and performance.
• Ensuring appropriate resources, skills and systems are in place to deliver on all responsibilities.
• Undertaking additional responsibilities and projects as required to support business objectives.

Health, Safety & Environment Responsibilities

• Leading risk management and safe working practices, driving continuous improvement to minimise risk and maintain a safe working environment.
• Ensuring teams, contractors and visitors operate safely through effective training, supervision, resource provision and performance monitoring.

Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities

• Leading food safety, quality and compliance standards across the department, ensuring adherence to GMP, HACCP, SOPs, allergen controls, product integrity and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.

• Relevant supply chain, logistics, materials management or operational management qualification is desirable.
• Experience of working in food manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain management, including planning, stock control, materials, warehousing and despatch.
• Experience managing teams, including managers or supervisors, with the ability to lead through others.
• Knowledge of warehousing, picking, despatch and finished goods control processes.
• Confident using systems and data to manage supply chain performance, stock accuracy, KPIs and reporting.
• Experience of vendor, supplier or stakeholder management.
• Commercial awareness of stockholding, labour, transport and supply chain costs.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
• Self-motivated, energetic and flexible, with the ability to work at pace and respond to changing business priorities.
