Job summary

Winsearch are partnering with an established business to appoint an experienced Supply Chain & Logistics Manager for the Yorkshire & Humber region. You will lead a team, own the end-to-end supply chain and drive improvements in efficiency and cost control.

The role requires CPC transport qualification, strong leadership and a track record of delivering results in logistics. You will report to the Senior Leadership Team and have Autonomy to shape operational strategy.

Qualifications

• Transport Manager CPC qualification is essential.
• Proven management experience in supply chain, logistics, transport or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation and Operator Licence requirements.
• Experience leading and developing operational teams.
• Proven track record of improving operational efficiency, productivity and supply chain performance.
• Experience implementing process improvements and managing operational change.
• Strong commercial awareness, including budget management, cost control and supplier relationships.
• Ability to balance operational demands with longer term strategic objectives.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills.
• A proactive leadership approach with the confidence to make decisions, influence stakeholders and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Leading, motivating and developing the operational team to achieve high standards of performance.
• Taking ownership of supply chain, logistics and distribution activities, ensuring operational objectives are consistently achieved.
• Driving efficiency, productivity and continuous improvement across the supply chain function.
• Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve service levels and reduce operational costs.
• Overseeing transport, warehousing and distribution activities to ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods.
• Monitoring fleet performance, transport costs and compliance to maintain a reliable and efficient operation.
• Maintaining effective stock control, inventory accuracy and efficient product movement.
• Managing relationships with external transport providers, suppliers and operational partners.
• Monitoring budgets, controlling expenditure and identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance.
• Developing and reviewing operational KPIs to measure performance and support business objectives.
• Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, Operator Licence requirements and regulations governing the movement and handling of goods.
• Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to support operational strategy and future business growth.
