About Isembard
Isembard is building a network of high-performance factories for critical industries. We combine advanced machine tools, robotics and our own software, MasonOS, to make precision components for aerospace, defence, energy and frontier technology companies, with factories across the UK, US, Germany and France. Our mission is to forge industrial acceleration.
The role
We are looking for a hands-on Supply Chain Lead to own day-to-day supply chain execution in the UK and to develop the supplier base our network depends on.
You will connect purchasing, material planning, supplier delivery, outside processing and factory priorities so the team can deliver on customer commitments. It is a working leadership role: you solve urgent supply issues, set clear routines and keep aerospace-level discipline without unnecessary bureaucracy.
What you'll do
- Lead daily procurement and material readiness: prioritise purchasing, resolve shortages and align supply with the production schedule.
- Own supplier delivery: confirm orders, track milestones, expedite at-risk material and recover before customer delivery is affected.
- Coordinate purchasing of aerospace-grade raw material, tooling, components and outside processes such as heat treatment, anodising, plating and coating.
- Make sure purchase orders flow down drawings, revisions, specifications, quality clauses, certifications and traceability requirements.
- Develop the supplier base, including subcontract manufacturing partners: find gaps in capability, capacity and coverage, reduce single-source dependencies and bring on qualified new sources with Supplier Quality.
- Keep purchasing and supplier data accurate in our systems, and track supplier on-time delivery, material availability and cost.
- Support supplier negotiations and network-wide sourcing within delegated authority.
What we're looking for
- Five or more years in supply chain, purchasing or materials management in manufacturing.
- Proven ability to manage suppliers, shortages and competing production demands.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing drawings, material specifications, outside processing and technical purchase order requirements.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100 / EN 9100 or a comparable quality system, including traceability and certification requirements.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and supplier performance tracking.
- Strong communication, negotiation and practical leadership.
Nice to have
- Aerospace, defence or precision CNC machining.
- Aerospace materials, special processes and NADCAP.
- Exposure to AS9120, DFARS, ITAR or EAR.
- CIPS or a related qualification.
Why Isembard
- Shape how supply chain execution works at a fast-growing precision manufacturer.
- Visible impact on factory performance and customer delivery.
- Competitive salary and equity.
Location: On-site at our Southwark factory in London.
